What a Citation Contains

Author
The author identifies who is responsible for the content. It can be a person or an organization.
Title
The title identifies the specific page, article, report or entry you used.
Publication date
The date helps readers identify the version of a source and can matter when web content changes over time.
Website name
The site name identifies the larger publication or organization hosting the page.
URL
A URL points readers to the source. Use the clean, direct page URL when available instead of a search-results link.
