How to Plan a Study Session
Create a focused study block with a clear task, realistic duration and useful break.
Choose one outcome
Replace “study biology” with a concrete outcome such as “review pages 40–48 and answer the five end-of-section questions.”
Estimate the time
Use the task size, your reading pace and previous experience to choose a session length.
Remove avoidable interruptions
Silence unnecessary notifications and put unrelated tabs or apps out of reach.
Work actively
Recall information, solve problems, explain concepts aloud or test yourself instead of only rereading.
End with a next step
Write down what you finished and the first action for the next session. That makes restarting easier.
